My LGS got theirs yesterday. Overall I happy with the quality of the figures. They all look good for prepaints( i really like Abel, I though he came out the best). I think the plastic is fairly sturdy, though you do have to be carefull with the spears. I you do aply alot of pressure they will snap, so you will probobly still want to transfer them very carefully.(though they won't brake when they tip over. Damn Archers!)
The Book is pretty and looks easy enough to read. Most new players should pick it up easly. 6 starter missions and then 4-6(?) regular missions in the back ala AT-43. Though this rulebook in the starter dose not have the full full, it does have the fluff sections on the griffin and Wolfen. Good stuff overall. Gripes: Only one sample banner for the griffin in the back. I guess we'll still need the online profiles til the army books. Maps in the book are excellent.
Army Books: Looking over the fluff I think the Griffins will get an army book dealing with the Temple and one that focuses on the Brothers of Hod and the Inquisition.
What I can gleam from the fluff: The Wolfen have claimed the Northwest sections of the old Kelt lands. Also(I don't know if this has been mentioned) At the Battle of Arcavia(1004 -- Griffin VS Hyena) the Griffin Pope and Emperor are killed. A new Pope and Emperor are chosen in 1008. Those were the two biggest things that I didn't know about. They also talk about the Age of Gods in more detail and the fact that the world has 3(!) suns.
Grifoni i Dirz previewSorry got some of my dates off:
1003 -- Invasion pf Akkylannie by the Devourers
1004 -- Empire of Syharhalna offensive.
1005 -- Battle of Arcavia, death of Emperor Octavius IX.
1009 -- Battle of the Infernos(wait... what?), selection of the new imperial leaders.
I'll try to get more info as I read it but it may take a while as I should probably do some work while i'm at work.
