Re: Call to arms 2009

Sigil re-opens on Wednesday, 1st April for business. All boards and terrain will be back in store by then. Probably.
I would like to also include a loose following of the Privateer Press Call to Arms method. Basically every eight weeks we run the call to arms league. The full details for this can be found at the following link;
http://www.privateerpress.com/dispatch/2009/
Basically book a game with an opponent and agree that it is a league game. Arrive and randomly decide a map and an objective as from the following link (I hope The Sigil staff will be happy to help with that) and record your results at the store. Set the terrain and map as in the picture.
There are some changes to the rules. Basically it seems that the official version has been set up to help players with larger armies and this is unfair (well not to me as the retailer but it goes unnoticed that I fight for the rights of others). So the set up is a simple;
For playing a league game 1 pt.
Victory + 2 pts.
Winning via primary objective +2 pt.
Only Caster(s) Left in play + 1 pt.
Note having the only caster in play is never the primary objective except in the "Scattered Lines" and "One Shot, One Kill" scenerios!! In all other scenerios the other stated victor condition is primary.
When you record your results you need to note the following;
Players & Factions, Winner, Round of Primary Objective Completion, Round of Caster Kill. Victory Point Totals.
So for example;
Dalibor (Cygnar) vs Shunka (Khador)
Winner Dalibor
POC round 3
CK NA
VP 14-6
(Dalibor gets 5 league points, Shunka 1)
Shunka (Khador) vs Miroslav (Everblight)
Winner Shunka
POC NA
CK Round 6
VP 11-9
(Shunka gets 4 league points, Miroslav 1)
Miroslav (Everblight) vs Rick (Highborn Covenant)
Winner Miroslav
POC NA
CK NA
VP 12-10
(Miroslav gets 3 league points, Rick 1)
This will get entered into a database at Sigil and it will calculate seedings which can be posted periodically if people are interested.
I have the medals already here in Belgrade and will reorder the next kit if this proves successful. I know it has failed before so this is why I am going to start small!!
The categories are slightly altered-
Warlord: Most League Points (Victory Points countback used to determine a draw).
Strategist: The largest difference between total victory points for and against (Most efficient player).
Eliminator: Most Caster Kills (Victory Points countback used to break a draw).
Relentless: Most completed Games (wet & keen award).
Now here's the magic part if your name is on the list below you're all already in the league and you don't need to play any games to fulfill your obligation!! Obviously if you don't play any games you just won't win any prizes. The players that play more games stand the best chance of winning medals and it really is as simple as that.
Legitimate Entrants;
1. Painbringer
2. Ines
3. Shunka
4. Dawngreeter
5. Pedja
6. Shukaku
7. Resurrection
8. Damjan
9. Stef
10. Dalibor
11. Knight
12. Pendargon
13. Bathory
14. Djordje
15. Pavlik
16. Dzon Vejn
17. Bojan D.
18. Rick
19. Minduploader
This basically means that you can't score leagues points by dragging in homeless guys and pasting them one after another for a string of easy wins (I can't explain why I think of Nikica whilst I write this). Also you must play the same faction throughout. The faction you play you first game with is your primary faction (of course you must also have at least 500 points in it).
Low maintenance, low investment, low expectations. It can be our new community mantra!!
