I've now seen almost all of it in some state or other, and can say the
following:
I've seen things that are wrong, and mostly Vadim has been able to do
something about the them (or says he can in post production.) They are
minor by the standards of big movies
The big thing that is wrong is that this is a TV movie on a small
budget, but there you go.
Then there is The Glaring Error: the Dean's 'Born to Rune Is on a red
cloth panel on the back of his jacket, not done in studs. This does
mean it's easier to read, and as far as I can see is the only actual
error -- and given what horrors movies can perpetrate, it hardly counts.
I thought the casting of Nicholas Tennant as Nobby was an error, until
I saw him act:-)
And that's it. I saw some wonderful stuff at the MPC last week. I
think it will look good. You'll all wish it could have had a bigger
budget, but it *is* Hogfather.

Don't get misled by the pix. Yes, I was in on a lot of things, far more
than the author would normally expect, but Vadim's vision was pretty
close to mine in any case. He never took *instructions* from me, but he
did listen...and so did I. I had a say, but mostly what I said was
'That's great!'
it's his movie, but it just so happens that it's pretty close to the one
I had playing in my head when I wrote the book.

CYNIC, n.
A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be. Hence the custom among the Scythians of plucking out a cynic's eyes to improve his vision.
